Federal Areas Test pace duo of Sohail Tanveer and Yasir Arafat shared nine wickets between them to dismiss Balochistan for 253 in their first innings on the opening day of their ABN AMRO Pentangular Cup League Cricket Championship at the National Stadium Friday.
However, Balochistan hit back at Federal Areas batting by reducing them to 79 for three wickets at draw of stumps in the four-day match after southpaw medium pacer Kamran Hussain took two wickets in four balls.
Opener Raheel Majeed on 42 with seven boundaries and Usman Saeed on 13 were at the crease at the end of the day.
Left-arm bowler Sohail snapped-up five wickets for 66 runs in 23 overs and right-arm seamer Yasir picked-up four wickets in 20 overs to cause the slide in Balochistan.
For Balochistan only opener Imran Tariq and lower-order batsman Imranullah showed any resistance. Usman clubbed 11 boundaries and one six in his 68 and Imran banged nine 4s in his aggressive unbeaten 51 off just 46. Captain Nadeem Khan got 31 with the aid of three 4s.
